With roots in Porto Alegre - Brazil, but traveling to the four corners of the world, João Pedro Florence, or 'JP' as he is known, is one of the highlights of DJs in Rio Grande do Sul. 'Restless, curious and with an aversion to the banal ' as he best describes himself, J is a born musical traveler who seeks inspiration in his wanderings through sonic space-time to create and go beyond.
Using House as a base, his sets are energetic and seek to break truisms, crossing temporal barriers in his musical research. In these searches, he moves through 1980s Italo-cosmic aspects, doses of spacey Electro and Dub and even, who knows, elements of psychedelic rock'n'roll and obscure pop music. Don't expect square and repetitive sessions from him, but rather, striking vocals, pulsating rhythms and nostalgic melodies, essential items for a hot track towards different worlds of dance music.
Already seven years into his career, he is a well-known name at parties in the South and also in other cities in Brazil. JP has performed at festivals such as MECA Inhotim, XAMA (19.20), parties such as Gop Tun, CAOS, Discoteca Odara, ON/DA and has released mixes on channels such as Alataj, East Side Radio and Deepbeep.
As commander and creative head behind the ship NEUE (a party he created and is a resident of), he was one of those responsible for renewing the alternative electronic music scene in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, establishing a new standard of experience, production and sound. Always in unusual locations, the tour entered the city on the route of national and international DJs, and became a safe haven in the South for the rest of the country when it comes to Disco and House Music.
