Swedish trumpeter Goran Kajfeš and his Subtropic Arkestra continue their Bandcamp only 10″ EP series with a three-tracker bringing the band together with Amanda Werne alias Slowgold. The EP marks the second entry in a series of three EPs featuring different vocalists to be released by We Jazz Records.
The Subtropic Arkestra, bringing together various Swedish jazz and psychedelic music scene heavy hitters, dives deep into the two tunes with Werne. The set is all killer no filler, including the Ethio-tinged original ”Urhavet” which echoes the open sea skies of the late Scandinavian summer, and the stunning Swedish-language reading of Lô Borges’s all-time Brazilian classic ”Tudo O Que Você Podia Ser”. The epic instrumental closer ”Vida Antigua/Vida Elektrika” marries another Brazilian original with Kajfeš electronic excursions in a highly personal, memorable way.
