Varje gest upprepas i en kroppslig ritual. Genom denna l\u00e5ngsamma process uppst\u00e5r stillheten: inandad, inlagrad. I taktila ytor framtr\u00e4der sprickan som en arketypisk \u00f6ppning, ett s\u00e5r, passagen in i mellanrummet d\u00e4r minne och materia, fragment och fl\u00f6de samexisterar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mellanrummet \u00e4r en plats d\u00e4r den cykliska r\u00f6relsen mellan ljus och m\u00f6rker, liv och d\u00f6d pulserar. Ett stilla \u00f6gonblick d\u00e4r materia, minne och sj\u00e4l ber\u00f6r varandra. On the boundary between painting and sculpture, she allows the materials to follow their own will. In this way, she engages with existence and its recurring cycles \u2013 both the intimate and the cosmic. Through personal experience, she seeks a quiet resonance, where darkness becomes presence: a space for breath, silence, and recognition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this exhibition, Maanmies presents works from the ongoing series Dissimulation, begun in Paris in 2020 and constantly evolving. The series\u2019 title evokes the hidden and the veiled, yet holds an opening: layers that both protect and reveal, structures that preserve traces of the past while gesturing toward what has yet to exist. Here, an inner landscape emerges, where the personal becomes collectively recognizable, as if our innermost layers contain a vast expanse \u2013 like rhythmic topographies extending beyond the frame and outward into space.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Paper-m\u00e2ch\u00e9, resin, oil, wax, and pigment undergo their own cycles of dissolution and transformation. Each gesture is repeated as a bodily ritual. Through this slow, deliberate process, stillness emerges: inhaled, accumulated, and held. In tactile surfaces, cracks appear as archetypal openings \u2013 a wound, a passage into the in-between, where memory and matter, fragment and flow coexist.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The in-between is a space where the cyclical pulse of light and darkness, life and death, is felt. A quiet moment where matter, memory, and soul converge.
